SLOW COOKER LEMON CHICKEN

This is my family's favorite dish.
1 large onion
1 c. flour
2 tsp,Paprika
1 tsp salt,plus 1/2tsp
1 tbs Oregano
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 tbs.butter
2 tbs. Olive oil
4 boneless chicken breasts ( I use Costco frozen chicken,it's skinless and boneless)
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons,,always use fresh lemon juice or it won't taste the same)
2/3 c chicken broth (boxed broth is the bomb)
Coarsely dice the onion (big chunks). Place the diced onion in the bottom of slow cooker.Combine the flour, paprika, 1 tbs salt, oregano, and garlic powder in a pie plate. Set the flour mixture aside, Heat the butter and oil in large skillet over medium heat ( keep the heat low enough so that the butter doesn't burn or brown)
Dredge broth sides of each chicken breast in the flour mixture and place the chicken in the hot skillet. Brown each side of the breast (may take 3-5 min per side). Place
the browned breasts on top of the onions in slow cooker. Using the same pan that you browned the chicken in (don't wipe out),pour the lemon juice and chicken broth into the pan stir for about 1 min. pour this liquid over the chicken breast. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours. serve over rice or pasta or mashed potatoes
